PARADE RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

By submitting this application, participants agree to the following:

• All entries must be family-friendly and appropriate for a community event.

• Entries should be decorated in a Christmas or holiday theme.

• ALL ENTRIES MUST HAVE LIGHTS

• Only the official Santa Claus designated by the parade organizers may appear in the parade. No additional live Santas are permitted.

• Candy and promotional items may be handed directly to spectators by walkers alongside the entry. Items may not be thrown from vehicles or floats.

• Participants may not enter or exit moving vehicles or floats while the parade is in progress.

• Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

• All vehicles must be properly insured and operated by a licensed driver.

• Animals must remain under the control of their handlers. Animal entries are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their animals.

• Participants must follow all instructions provided by parade officials, volunteers, law enforcement, City employees, and event organizers.

• Alcohol, illegal substances, weapons, open flames, and unsafe conduct are prohibited.

• Parade officials reserve the right to reject or remove any entry that is unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive, or does not comply with parade rules.

• Participants are responsible for securing all decorations, equipment, and passengers before entering the parade route.

• Participants must arrive at their assigned staging location by the designated check-in time. Late arrivals may not be permitted to participate.

PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT AND RELEASE

I understand that participation in the Calimesa Christmas Parade involves risks, including possible personal injury, property damage, vehicle accidents, and other hazards associated with a public parade.

On behalf of myself, my organization, and all individuals participating with my entry, I voluntarily accept these risks and agree to release, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Calimesa Chamber of Commerce, the City of Calimesa, and their respective officers, board members, employees, volunteers, representatives, sponsors, event organizers, and participating agencies from claims, liabilities, injuries, losses, damages, or expenses arising from or related to participation in the parade, except where prohibited by law.

I accept responsibility for the conduct and safety of everyone participating with my entry. I confirm that all participants have been informed of the parade rules and that I have obtained any necessary permission from the parents or legal guardians of participating minors.

I authorize parade organizers to photograph or record my entry and its participants during the event. I grant permission for those images and recordings to be used for news coverage, event promotion, social media, websites, and future promotional materials without compensation.

I certify that the information provided in this application is accurate and understand that submitting this form does not guarantee acceptance into the parade.
